Caregivers

OEC welcomes family and community engagement!

• We host regular annual events, including our Back to School Giveaway, Back to School Night, report card conferences, Math Night, Literacy Night, BINGO Night, Meet the Authors, Career Day, Field Day, and a Drama Club production, as well as seasonal concerts.
• As a Community School, we have regular opportunities to volunteer––such as helping with our weekly food distribution or organizing attendance incentives.
• We invite caregivers and community members to join our School Advisory Council (SAC) to review Title I funding and collaborate on improving student achievement.
• Our in-house social services organization, Methodist Services, also hosts quarterly family forums to meet families’ various needs.
• Once our Library re-opens, the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC) will train volunteers to operate our lending library.
